The first thing we do during the high-end retail design process based on subtle details is that we hang on every word of our customers. It is the foundation of a store design process to take the most accurate decisions considering the expectations and strategies as well as the concept, product group and target audience the customer wants to create. And then, we prepare mood boards, sketches and mock-ups. This stage is where the picture appearing in our mind comes together with what our customer thinks. Lucky us that we soon have the same dream as the customer.
Concepts and expectations always come with various challenges. For example, the brand’s colour was orange in the project Orange Bed & Bath we implemented in Saudi Arabia. It was tough to use this colour in an elegant manner because the colour orange is perceived as a colour commonly used for DIY stores. We have managed to use it in a way that does not strain eyes, that does not dominate the entire area, but that perfectly reflects the brand’s spirit. We have equipped the whole store with decorative areas and placed the products in a certain way so that the users could experience the products in the category of bedroom and bathroom.
For Chakra, as another project referring to high-end store design in Istanbul, we have undertaken the design and implementation control phases. This store located at Bağdat Avenue needed to attract the people walking on the street. And we have designed the entire building as a giant store window. We have used natural and warm materials to make it accessible. Great use of the natural patterns, asymmetric surfaces, load-bearing timbers on the ceiling and wooden parts have made Chakra a unique place.
Other than these, luxury interior design projects we designed in Turkey are Brandroom Antalya and Hilltown Mall, Beymen Metropol, Beymen Burda Mall, Beymen Hilltown Mall and Beymen Club. The luxury interior design process is both creative and rational for us… The decision we make for store design is affected by the guests' experience at the store, their purchasing habits, the pattern, size and even the sales target of the products. It requires a labour-intensive process and teamwork to breathe a spirit into a store. Fortunately, our store design team, with significant experience in the field of retail for high-end store design, takes care of the delicate balance and considers the sales dynamics, which makes each project unique and perfect.
